Weeping Fig (Ficus Benjamina)

Official Tree of Bangkok

Native to Asia and Australia, Weeping Fig (Ficus Benjamina) is an official tree of the capital of Thailand and a popular ornamental plant around the world.

In natural conditions Ficus will grow up to 30 meters tall, but in temperate climate it’s usually kept indoors, where it may need to be controlled by pruning, as it will continue to grow beyond available space.

Elegant and Tolerant

Placed in bright or sunny spot and shielded from cold and drafts, Ficus will thrive and impress with its elegant tree-like shape. It needs good natural light, can tolerated direct sunlight and requires regular watering.

It also filters air, removing toxic formaldehyde, a compound used in construction materials, so is a good choice for any newly built or refurbished office space.

Aztec Experience with Ficus Benjamina

Ficus Benjamina is a classic favourite in commercial interiors as it is available in a number of different styles (bush, tree or lollipop) and the lollipop styles are available with decorative stems – braided, spiral or corkscrew.

Aztec have used Ficus Benjamina for many years in car showrooms due to its ability to stand direct sunlight.
