Evolving design: A 20-Year Journey in Office Planting

Over the past 20 years, Aztec Plants has been proud to support one of the leading Cambridge pharmaceutical companies through multiple evolutions of their office space. As their workspace and branding needs have grown and changed, so too have our plant installations – always adapting to complement the latest design trends while maintaining the health, vibrancy, and wellbeing benefits that living plants bring to the office environment.

We have recently completed the third phase of our plant refresh. See the beautiful results in the recently refurbished Cambridge office.

Below, we share a visual journey through the different phases of our partnership. From the earliest planting scheme through an update in 2010, these images show how flexible and dynamic plant hire can be — allowing businesses to refresh and modernise their interiors without losing the natural elements that employees value.

Join us as we look back at how this Cambridge’s office spaces have transformed over time.

Phase One - 1998

The first stage followed office refurbishment led by an interior designer. Some of the plants were placed in ceramic, imported planters which were modern and fashionable at the time. We have also utilise barrier planters, which continued to be used in phase two.

Phase Two - 2010

Phase two included purple planters which matched the company branding at the time and the refreshed office décor. The barrier planters remained, but have been painted white.

Phase Three - 2025

The most recent update includes a lot of natural colours, patterns and textures – a visible emphasis on employee wellbeing. Visit the Cambridge Plants Case Study page for more information and images.
